Chumbak is looking for a results driven retail store manager to be responsible for the overall store management. The successful candidate will be able to ensure that the store provides an awesome customer experience, meet sales and profitability goals and manage staff effectively. He / She will have excellent operational capabilities and strong knowledge of retail KPIs and be able to drive results through the same. Store manager responsibilities may include supervising assistant store managers. 

 

Role & Responsibilities

  • Sales
    • Achieve business targets against targets set on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis. 
    • Drive L2L growth of the store.
  • Customer Experience
    • Ensure that the store team provides excellent customer service in a manner that it differentiates our store from the rest of the market.
    • Ensure customer delight and a WOW experience for our customers.
    • Build customer relationship and retention through a culture of service excellence.
    • Lead by example in terms of customer experience and handle customer escalations and complaints effectively.
  • Operations
    • Ensure Daily briefing are conducted effectively
    • Ensure that high standards of grooming amongst all members of the team on a daily basis
    • Be completely on top of store inventory in terms of ensuring stock availability, documenting all inwards / outwards / inter store transfers, prevention of shrinkage through effective monitoring, and coordinating with planning teams to ensure adherence to replenishment schedule.
    • Be hawk-eyed in controlling costs to maximize store profitability, ensure that cash management is done as per company policy and there is no financial mismanagement.
    • Ensure timely & accurate reporting from the store to city manager and head office, pertaining to store sales, store operation checklists, and competition data in the area for periodic reviews.
  • Team management and development
    • Mentor and motivate sales staff to leverage their strengths
    • Set expectations, regularly assess performance and give feedback to each staff member to help them achieve their overall goals.
    • Identify Training and development inputs required by the store staff to equip them with the skills to understand and fulfil consumer needs.
    • Impart on the job training inputs to store staff.
    • Should train senior store staff about maintaining documents, billing procedure and SOPs and develop the overall effectiveness of the staff to enable them to take on more responsibilities and support them in their professional growth.  
  • Visual merchandising
    • Ensure that the VM plan sent by the H.O is executed on time and as per the guidelines.  
    • Ensure that In store product presentation, window displays and coordination of Visual & Item presentation is maintained as per VM guidelines.
    • Co-ordinate with regional VMs on VM execution and send pictures as required.
    • Maintenance and upkeep of all furniture and fixtures.
    • Assist team members in stacking, color blocking, and replenishment for his/her section and also in arranging window display.
  • General/ Administration
    • Ensure that the statutory records are maintained properly and are up to date
    • See that the attendance and leave record register are maintained accurately and updated timely.
    • Ensure that all the relevant rules of the Shops and Establishments Act, Labor Act are strictly adhered to
    • All the equipment used in the store function smoothly.

    

Desired Experience and Skills
Education: Graduate, MBA is preferred
Years of Experience: 3-6 years, with atleast 1-2 years experience as a store manager with a Fashion brand.

Should have:

  • Experience in retail store management with a well-known fashion brand, with proven skills in meeting sales targets consistently. Prior experience in a Women’s wear fashion brand is highly preferred.
  • Excellent customer management skills
  • Very good retail operation knowledge, with a very good understanding of retail KPIs which help drive retail sales
  • Excellent team management skills, ability to motivate staff, lead from the front and drive staff aggressively to meet sales targets
  • Pleasant personality & appearance with excellent grooming standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, articulate, able to handle situations aptly under pressure
