Category Manager - Beauty

About the Job



You will be responsible for developing and executing profitable, customer-focused buying and merchandising and product development strategies for the Beauty and Personal Care category. You should have an insatiable desire to contribute to a young, energetic and fast growing brand that provides the best product experience to customers.



Role & Responsibilities


  • Own key metrics like Category Contribution %, Gross Margin, Sell-through.
  • Build an assortment plan that meets online and store needs and then deliver a single detailed assortment to design.
  • Launch new products and ranges, with a lead in market potential, competitiveness and desired product quality.
  • Management of final investment plan and OTB based on business analysis
  • Collaborate with the sourcing team to ensure that products are being delivered as per the GTM.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to agree on the packaging
  • Lead product development efforts in beauty products based on fashion forecast and market trends
  • Liaison with Marketing and Design teams to develop seasonal online/ in-store campaigns.
  • Independently collaborating with various stake holders in ensuring the product launch happens as per the seasonal GTM calendar.
  • Responsible for timely submission of all samples as required.
  • Work very closely with other teams by presenting new upcoming or prevailing ideas in industry on regular basis and should also give suggestion or ideas about new technologies or new products.
  • Understand the product development requirement and account for the same in the seasonal development calendar.
  • Collaborate with various retail channels and facilitate better sales and performance for the category.


Desired Experience and Skills


Education : MBA / Graduate

Years of Experience : 5-8 years


Should have :


  • Experience in beauty / cosmetics / personal care product segment as a buyer / sourcing manager.
  • Should have exceptionally strong knowledge on products & market trends.
  • Should have sourcing, buying & merchandising experience in wide range of beauty categories
  • Very good experience in the entire product development process
  • Possesses strong presentation, listening, verbal and written communication skills.
