Sr. Manager – Human Resources

We are looking for a Senior HR Manager to manage the entire gamut of HR, who can do it all and set up a great employee experience at Chumbak. Our people operation function is mission critical to us. You will have both operational and strategic responsibilities, helping us to plan and administer important functions, such as talent acquisition and management, on-boarding, compensation and benefits, employee engagement & relations, performance appraisals etc.

 

 

Role & Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for hiring and building a strong team at Chumbak. This includes working closely with all hiring managers and HoDs to understand hiring requirements and smooth interview process, guiding team in the hiring process, and close positions as per the agreed TAT and cost.
  • Should also be hands-on in recruiting for senior level and niche positions.
  • Building a strong employer brand.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy & culture.
  • Lead and execute the annual and continuous performance management initiatives.
  • Lead corporate training initiatives, including conducting TNA, planning the training calendar, ensuring delivery through external consultants, & measuring & reporting efficacy of training.
  • Develop, implement and manage the employee journey experience at Chumbak- right from on-boarding to off boarding.
  • Responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of payroll, benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs.
  • Ensure adherence to Labour compliance as per various applicable regulations
  • Champion, conceive and execute employee engagement activities and rewards & recognition initiatives.
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues.
  • You are required to be completely responsive to the queries, concerns and roadblocks that employees face in their day to day operations and help unblock them.
  • Ensure that standard reports and HR data is continually available for ongoing company requirements.
  • Ability to complete a wide variety of tasks and be passionate about adding value.
  • Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve the efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience.
  • Provide support to all regulatory audits.
  • Promote a professional, positive, and supportive work environment.

 

 

Desired Experience and Skills

 

Education : MBA / PG (preferably in HR)

Years of Experience : 8 - 12 years

 

 

Should have :

 

  • Should have 8-12 years of hands on experience in handling Recruitment/HR Generalist/HR Operations role. Prior experience in a startup environment will be preferred. Experience in retail industry will be a big plus.
  • Experience with HR administration and general exposure / knowledge of various HR functions from hire to retire (e.g., policy, compensation, employee relations, benefits, performance management, etc.).
  • Very good MS-Office skills with superb MS-Excel skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated management skills in either a team lead or manager role, with the ability to coach, train, motivate and manage performance of others.
  • Proven collaboration and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to build rapport with employees and other stakeholders across the organisation
  • Agile and flexible to adapt to the Chumbak way of working
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Look for simple effective solutions to get things done without over-complicating
  • Ability to ensure confidentiality and discretion when managing sensitive issues.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment.
